Active Directory vs. E Directory

My company wants to deploy an Active Directory type environment. Would you recommend Active Directory as a total solution, or would it be better to run Active Directory in conjunction with an E Directory? Would that scenario be a total/complete solution? In other words, of the two scenarios I have described, which would be best? And will Exchange Services also integrate with an E Directory? Can you recommend any better solutions? While I am not familiar with the specific needs of your organization, I cannot think of a reason you would need Active Directory and E Directory. If you are planning on using Exchange 2000 or later, you will need Active Directory as Exchange does not integrate with any other directory services. I think if you research and test sufficiently you'll find Active Directory to be a complete solution for you.
