Mimosa NearPoint for Microsoft Exchange Server 2.0 handily bested a field of 10 for the Gold Award in SearchExchange.com's Archiving and Compliance category for Products of the Year 2006, with near perfect scores in innovation, functionality, ease of use and integration with Microsoft technologies and commodity storage.

Judges lauded Mimosa NearPoint for being a complete archiving, disaster recovery and storage management, a unique feature set that also won Mimosa the top award for SearchExchange.com's best backup and recovery product of the year.

NearPoint was without peer for innovation based on what one judge described as the most novel use of log shipping outside of both SQL Server and Exchange Server 2007: "No other product reads the Exchange transaction logs and inserts the Exchange transactions from the logs into database copies capable of any level of restore, as well as archiving and searching."

The product base includes archiving, data protection and mailbox extension with support for user and auditor search and access using Outlook and Outlook Web Access (OWA). New archiving and compliance features introduced in version 2.0 include:

• A total view of email information for the reconstruction of complex conversation threads and user behavior.

• Alignment with SEC Rule 17a-4 and other compliance regulations for email archival.

• Automated disaster recovery of Exchange service and all archived information.

• PST files that can be uploaded directly into the NearPoint archive.

• Exchange 5.5 migration support for archiving Exchange 5.5 mailbox content directly to the Mimosa NearPoint archive.

Pricing: Mimosa NearPoint version 2.0 starts at $9,995 for 100 mailboxes. The NearPoint eDiscovery Option is $2,000 for 100 mailboxes; additional options are the NearPoint Disaster Recovery Option, PST Archive Option and the NearPoint Compliance Storage Option, priced at $1,000 each for 100 mailboxes. For environments with more than 2,000 mailboxes, the price is $40 per mailbox for NearPoint and $16 per mailbox for the eDiscovery Option. Additional options are each priced at $8 per mailbox.
