An error with the Exchange Server 2003's ability to handle deleting or moving folders that have multiple nested subfolders could allow hackers the opportunity to cause a denial of service attack.

Microsoft has issued a hotfix on its Web site for the vulnerability. Because of the flaw, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (Store.exe) could be rendered unresponsive in the event a malicious user executes a successful attack.

Users must be running Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 to install the fix.
