Migration: Migration is the process of moving from one operating environment to another -- in most cases, to a better one. For example, moving from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 or 2003 is a migration. Migration can be small-scale, such as migrating a single system, or large-scale, involving many systems, new applications, or a redesigned network. Migration is also used to refer simply to the process of moving data from one storage device to another.
