New multifunction server saves space

San Jose, CA-based Supermicro Computer, Inc. recently released SuperServer 5013C-MT, its Pentium 4 optimized server providing up to 1TB of SATA storage space in a 1U chassis.

Running up to 3.40GHz, the SuperServer 5013C-MT integrates a Pentium 4 processor with 2MB of L3 cache and Hyper-Threading technology into a 19.85"-deep 1U server chassis. Supporting up to four SATA drives with RAID 0, 1, or 5, it includes configurable solutions for storage, including NAS and SAN. The unit also acts as a file server, e-mail server, print server, appliance server or web server.

The SuperServer contains the Intel E7210 chipset with an 800MHz system bus and 3 x 4cm high-performance fans. Also included are one CD-ROM slot, two front-side USB ports, one COM port, one PCI-X expansion slot, a 300-watt power supply and dual GbE LAN interfaces. It can hold up to four hard drives and allow up to 1 terabyte of internal storage capacity.
