SharePoint Solutions' Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007 (ExCM) enables the provisioning and maintenance of extranet SharePoint sites for use with business partners. Companies can delegate user maintenance and management tasks to partners while still monitoring and auditing their activities within their collaborative environments.
In addition, ExCM gives partners, customers and suppliers access to important SharePoint data while maintaining security, audit ability and accountability. Partner activities can be tracked and supervised by line-of-business staff members without depending on or waiting for IT resources.
The software also works with forms-based authentication (FBA) to allow user management and user self-service functions for non-Active Directory users.
ExCM offers the following capabilities and features:
- Options for deciding how users will log into extranet sites and how their user information is stored.
- Management interfaces that allow control over workflows and changes in the extranet environment as new sites are requested, created and used for collaboration.
- Monitoring and auditing of site creation workflows and user management activities through reports and list views.
Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007comes in two editions: Enterprise Edition and Standart Edition. ExCM Enterprise Edition includes all of the functionality of ExCM Standard Edition, plus the Site Provisioning Assistant product.
