New Product Showcase for Microsoft SharePointQuest Software's Recovery Manager for SharePoint 2.0 provides backup and disaster recovery for Windows enterprises. Recovery Manager gets business-critical SharePoint data back online before the entire server farm is restored. The software also has the ability to separately restore individual documents, lists, document libraries, sites and workspaces.

Quest Recovery Manager for SharePoint logoQuest Software's Recovery Manager for SharePoint 2.0 allows IT administrators to locate and restore SharePoint 2003 and 2007 information, regardless of whether the original SharePoint location is available or not. Recovery Manager provides granular recovery of SharePoint 2003 and 2007 data in the enterprise. The software restores items from full database backups created for disaster recovery, both SQL Server or SharePoint native backup, as well as Quest LiteSpeed for SQL Server backup.

New features in Recovery Manager for SharePoint 2.0 include:

  • Restores SharePoint data to any location, at any time.
  • Locates, opens, saves to disk or email any document inside the backup. It automatically uses the appropriate program to open documents based on the document extension, saves the document or sends it via email.
  • Searches for documents by title or type of document in a specific backup or across all backups in a date range. A list of deleted or modified documents can also be viewed in the search pane with a single click or search results can be sorted by any column.
  • Discovers all backups made for a particular content database of virtual servers discovered by Quest Site Administrator.

Systems requirements: Intel x86 with management console and back-end SharePoint SQL Server or an Intel x64 back-end SharePoint SQL Server hardware. A minimum of 512 MB on the SharePoint back-end servers and 2 GB of RAM are recommended. Software -- Windows Server 2003 SP1 or Windows XP SP2, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0,and Quest Site Administrator for SharePoint 1.6 or later.

Pricing: $4,995 per front-end server.
