ScriptLogic Corp.'s Security Explorer 6.5 for SharePoint graphically manages access controls and security on Windows servers, SharePoint servers and workstations across the enterprise
Security Explorer 6.5 for SharePoint gives administrators the ability to manage, search, duplicate, back up and recover permissions across the network using a point-and-click interface. Version 6.5 is compatible with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 07) and Windows SharePoint Services v3 (WSS3).
ScriptLogic's Security Explorer facilitates management of NTFS file-folder security, SharePoint security, file shares, services, printer access, registry security and task scheduling. This reportedly restricts access to privileged information on Windows servers and workstations and standardizes security management across a Windows network. Users can access security and permissions, viewing assigned and inherited permissions, without having to locate security lists in files, folders and registry keys.
Permission back-up and restore capabilities reduce time spent restoring permissions that were changed or deleted accidentally. Permission searches detect security weaknesses and over-privileged users.
Security Explorer 6.5 also allows administrators to:
Obtain a tree view of the entire SharePoint site, set and search user permissions for SharePoint libraries and files, and back up and restore file security settings.
Edit SharePoint permission levels and groups.
Scan for any combination of permissions granted to specific users or groups, inherited or explicit, across the whole SharePoint farm.
System requirements: Pentium 600 MHz or faster processor; Windows 2000 or later, Microsoft .NET Framework; 50 MB disk space; 256 MB memory. Screen resolution: 800 x 600.
Pricing: $431 per server. SharePoint farms require one license per farm server.
