How to use ISA Server as an SMTP filter

No sane administrator would ever run Microsoft Exchange Server without virus and spam protection -- but there are steps you can take to keep your antivirus and antispam applications from having to work so hard.

By directing your inbound SMTP traffic to a Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server first, you can nab certain types of malicious messages and reduce the overall volume of SMTP mail that your Exchange server must process.
