Colligo Contributor, version 2.2, for Microsoft Office SharePoint allows users to securely access, modify and create SharePoint content online and offline using a rich client interface.
Colligo Contributor from Colligo Networks Inc. is a .NET client application that operates as a standalone desktop client interface or a Microsoft Office Outlook add-on.
Users can securely access, modify and create SharePoint documents, forms, list items and metadata regardless of connectivity. The software supports bi-directional SharePoint-to-laptop Easy Sync, Outlook add-in for email drag-and-drop as well as custom metadata document and picture libraries. Document templates, including InfoPath forms and custom and standard forms, are also supported.
Enhancements to Contributor, version 2.2, include:
- Check in/out support lets users track their document checking activities.
- An options panel enables users to use the registry to set options that were previously configurable only by IT administrators, such as metadata prompting and storage location configuration.
- Background synchronization options, such as sync on startup, navigation, modification and configured time interface.
- User-selectable content for synchronization is based on a specific view.
After files are dragged from an Outlook folder and dropped into a document library, Contributor names the files automatically according to Sender, Sent date/time and Subject. Documents opened by the software can be saved as a new document in an offline cache. Contributor will also sync the new document to SharePoint using the default metadata. Synchronizing content to a local encrypted data store allows the software to deliver immediate access online and offline. The Microsoft Outlook add-in feature syncs SharePoint document libraries to Outlook folders and captures standard message fields such as To, From and Date as well as attachments.
