QUESTION POSED ON: 25 February 2004 In Exchange System Manager, if I view the permissions of my root Public Folder, on the Advanced Permissions dialog there is a check for "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate..." Can you tell me to what "parent" this is referring to? There aren't any permissions on the Folders container or at the Administrative Group level.
>
The parent structure is not visible in Exchange System Manager. Instead, you need to use ADSI Edit, a low-level Active Directory editor, to view and if desired modify, permissions on the parent object. In ADSI Edit, you can view and manipulate the parent object by navigating to Configuration-->Services-->Microsoft Exchange-->Org-->Administrative Groups-->AG-->Folder Hierarchies.
