QUESTION POSED ON: 09 September 2003 I installed SP3 on my Exchange server. The OS is Windows 2000. I backed up the server with Veritas Backup Exec 8.6. Before the installation of the SP3 on Exchange, the backup was OK. After the installation of the service pack, I can't back up the .edb file anymore. The message I get is: "the file is corrupt." I have no problem backing up the storage with NTbackup.

It sounds like you might need to contact Veritas on this one. If NT Backup has no problems backing up Exchange, then the problem could be with BackupExec. You might try searching the knowledge base at Veritas. You may also need an update (Build 3878 is the latest build I believe), or you may need one of the available BackupExec hotfixes. I do know there is at least one for Exchange.
