To receive email, the public Domain Name System servers will need to know the IP address of your externally-accessible SMTP gateway. This means you need to have your Internet Service Provider (ISP) set up a Mail eXchanger (MX) record for your domain. Once this is done -- barring any configuration issues on your end -- your mail should start flowing inbound.
