QUESTION POSED ON: 19 March 2009
I have an Exchange 2007 stand-alone server in my test network, and I've since added a node as a cluster continuous replication (CCR) cluster. However, now Active Directory cannot detect the first server, and the POP3 and IMAP4 services will not start. Do you know what my problem might be?

Did you add the second server and form a CCR cluster, or did you just create the active mailbox server role -- which is the first step of creating the CCR cluster -- with the second server? Regardless, you cannot install CCR at all without installing it properly. This means that you'll have to install the first server as the Active Clustered Mailbox Role and the second server as the Passive Clustered Mailbox Server role, as opposed to the Mailbox Role, which is not cluster aware.

For more information, take a look at this information on performing a custom Exchange 2007 installation, installing the Active Clustered Mailbox role in a CCR environment and installing the Passive Clustered Mailbox role in a CCR environment.
