QUESTION POSED ON: 05 March 2009
I have an issue where a client's email comes through to her BlackBerry, but it does not make it to her inbox on Microsoft Outlook 2007. I've checked the junk mail folder and confirmed that the rules are set correctly. This doesn't happen all of the time, but it's frequent enough to make it an issue. Do you have any suggestions?

By design, all messages delivered to BlackBerry devices must first exist in the Exchange mailbox of the user that the BlackBerry device is assigned to -- except in the case of SMS and PIN-based messages.

Are you sure that the messages in question are not SMS or PIN-based? PIN messaging allows BlackBerry devices to message each other directly, via the RIM network, without ever entering your Exchange organization. SMS messages, as well, would not travel through your Exchange organization. If the messages in question are neither SMS or PIN-based, you'll want to go back and reexamine the mailbox rules again to find the cause of this behavior. Beyond that, a call to RIM technical support may be in order.
