QUESTION POSED ON: 26 February 2009
I have several BlackBerry mobile devices that are receiving their email through POP3 from our Exchange server. Everything works fine, but the mail is automatically marked as "read" when it is retrieved from the Exchange server. How can I stop this from happening?

This is most likely a design and implementation issue. To avoid having the messages marked as read, your best bet would be to implement a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) with a proper BlackBerry infrastructure. If this is not an option, try having the devices download only the header of the message. However, if you are still using Exchange Server 2000, be aware of this available hotfix from Microsoft.
