Next, build a brand new server and install Microsoft Windows and the latest service packs, and then run the Exchange Server installation CD. During Exchange Server setup, specify that you want to join an existing Exchange implementation. Once you've got the new server online with the required service packs, you can move mailboxes from the source server to the target server. Finally, follow the steps to decommission the first Exchange server from the administrative group.
