QUESTION POSED ON: 08 August 2008
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2007 with Exchange Server 2007. I just received the following error message:

14:04:12 Done
14:04:15 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
14:04:15 Not downloading offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located.
14:04:15 0X8004010F

Do you have any idea what this means?

Microsoft describes this problem in KB 939765, Error message when Outlook synchronizes an offline address book with Exchange 2007: 0x8004010F. This synchronization error may occur if Outlook is configured for Cached Exchange Mode. If you are on a reliable and fast connection, then you could consider disabling Cached Exchange Mode.

A proxy configured for an Internet connection when your Exchange server is on a local area network (LAN) could also cause Outlook synchronization error 0X8004010F. A LAN does not require a proxy. Therefore, check the browser proxy settings and set the IP address of the Exchange server as an exclusion.
