QUESTION POSED ON: 20 September 2007
I recently added an Exchange 2003 server into an environment with an Exchange 2000 server (first server for some years). I then migrated the mailboxes to the new Exchange 2003 server using the Move Mailbox Wizard. The public folders are still on the Exchange 2000 server. I am pointing the public folder store on Exchange 2003 to the original folders on the Exchange 2000 server.
Since the mailbox migration, some users can't move items from their mailboxes to the public folders. Users have implied or explicit permissions and publishing editor rights for the public folders. I have pushed these permissions out again to update any old records stored. I still can't get the users to move items from their mailboxes to the public folders. Did Exchange 2003 recently add any security layers that may be causing these issues? Do you have any insights on this problem?
