QUESTION POSED ON: 06 December 2006

I'm about to start a migration from GroupWise 5.5 to Exchange Server 2003. We have purchased the Quest GroupWise Migration Tool to help. I'm about to change all of my email routing to come in through my Exchange Server environment.

I've created a subdomain for GroupWise (gw.xyz.org). I've also set up DNS, MX records, GroupWise route.cfg, Exchange GroupWise Routing Connector and everything I need for our primary email domain name (xyz.org). In addition, I have two other email domain names that I'm going to have to route during the migration process (approximately four months). How can I do this?

EXPERT RESPONSE
You would use the same process as you would for configuring the additional domains in Exchange, recipient policies, etc. Then, when the email hits the Exchange server, it would forward the email to the recipient in GroupWise (using the synchronized entry from GroupWise).

One other item to mention: You do not have to change the routing at the beginning; this can be done at the end of the migration process. It depends on what you want to do.
