QUESTION POSED ON: 21 December 2005
We have a multi-site/multi-server Exchange 5.5 environment. We are moving to Exchange 2003 in a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain. Branch locations are still on the NT4 domain with an Exchange 5.5 server for their site.

We started the migration at corporate. We set up an active domain controller and started to migrate some test users. Public folders are not completely showing up. We have certificate authorities in active domain controller for public folders, and we have also tried pfmigrate.wsf. We can move the users back to the old Exchange 5.5 server, and they are able to see all of the public folders again. We also tried creating replicas in Exchange 5.5 System Manager to the Exchange 2003 server. Do you have any ideas?

I would confirm that you have valid mail flow between the Exchange 5.5 and 2003 server. I would also confirm the Exchange 2003 public folder store has been stamped with a proxy address. To do this, use ADSI Edit to bring up the properties of the public folder store.

If those two things don't help, I would further consider troubleshooting the issue by creating a new folder in the target environment to check if you can see any public folder data.

One last thought -- you could use the Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Tool to see if something in your target configuration could be modified.
