QUESTION POSED ON: 08 December 2005
I have configured Exchange so users must change their passwords after 30 days. But, when they change their passwords, they can no longer get into the domain. Error: Domain not available.

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
I'm not sure how you configured Exchange to do that. Password policy is set at the Domain level in the Default Domain group policy object. But I do think I know what is happening to you.

If your clients are configured to cache their credentials and then change their passwords, they need the ability to synchronize with the Domain Controller. If that is not possible at the time the password is changed, then their cached credentials are immediately invalid.
