QUESTION POSED ON: 05 December 2005
My company is looking to implement Legato Email Xtender in our Exchange 5.5 environment. A short time later we will be migrating to Exchange 2003. Are there any issues with having both environments archiving to Legato Email Xtender during the migration period?

This sounds like an excellent question for your technical consultants from Legato. I haven't used that specific product in the past, but I would like to validate your idea. Frequently, you can use mail archiving solutions to move the bulk of a user's mailbox to an archiving system and then do the actual migration from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. Once you move the mailbox into Exchange 2003, then Legato would need to reconnect the archive storage with the new active mailbox.
