QUESTION POSED ON: 13 October 2005
I just completed a GroupWise 6 to Exchange 2003 migration. Everything went well. We used a Wingra tool to migrate messages and personal address books. The problem now is that users are not able to have migrated address books and frequent contacts available in their address books. For some reason, the option of adding contacts to an address book is grayed out.

It sounds like the Outlook address book service is not associated with the users Outlook MAPI profile.

If you are using Outlook 2003, you would need to do the following:

  1. Go to Start -> Programs -> Control Panel -> Mail -> Show profiles -> Select profile -> Properties -> E-mail accounts.

    Figure 2

  2. After that, verify that the Outlook address book service is present. If there is one there, you should remove and then add.

Wingra support is best reached by sending an e-mail to support@wingra.com. They are very responsive when it comes to customer issues in the field. (Disclaimer: I work for Quest Software, which acquired Wingra in 2005.)
