QUESTION POSED ON: 26 January 2005
I need help restoring the Outlook 2002 OST file to retrieve mail for a client that had her Exchange mailbox deleted and recreated later for the retrieval of mail messages. Now when I set up Outlook to the old OST file that we have (we don't have the PST), I get a message that claims this file is configured for a different mailbox. Is there any way to achieve this task with the new mail settings?

I'm afraid your only solution here is to go back to a good backup of the Exchange server and recover the mail items from there, if they were backed up. You're not going to be able to recover the mailbox by trying to connect the OST file, unfortunately.
