QUESTION POSED ON: 07 January 2005
The system I am running is Exchange 2000 SP3 with Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4. One of my users told me that he suddenly found 512 old e-mails in his inbox (Outlook 2003) that he had deleted nine months ago. This is the second time this has happened.

EXPERT RESPONSE
It seems that the account is corrupted. Save the e-mail to a PST, delete the account from Exchange, then recreate it and transfer the e-mail back to the account.
