I'm unaware of any built-in Exchange server functionality that enables you to do this. It may be possible to automate sending OOF from a dedicated client (with a profile) scripting or on the server with Collaborative Data Objects (CDO), Exchange 2000 and below.

I'm not sure what the asker means by "without a profile, etc.," but Out of Office can be set up through Outlook Web Access on the Exchange server.

We do it via OWA client, which saves us from having to set up a profile.
