QUESTION POSED ON: 26 October 2004
I work for a small business that would like to keep a copy of every message sent and received through our Exchange 2003 Server running on Windows 2003 Server. How can I accomplish this with tools available in Exchange 2003?

For this you'll need to do the following:

1. Set up a journaling mailbox (i.e. call it something like "JournalMB1@yourcompany.com).

2. Launch Exchange System Manager on each store and set the "archive all messages on this store" value to the journaling mailbox. A copy of all messages Exchange in your organization will be archived to the journaling mailbox.

3. Backup the Journaling mailbox to make sure you can recover data in case of disaster.
