QUESTION POSED ON: 09 May 2006
I created a mail-enabled Exchange public folder. Within the domain, I can send messages and see them in the public folder. But messages sent from outside email accounts, like Yahoo or Hotmail, do not come to the Exchange public folder and non-delivery reports (NDRs) are sent back to the sender. How can I allow outsiders to send to the email address associated with that Exchange public folder?

You'll need to add permissions to "anonymous" as contributor for each of the Exchange public folders in question.

MEMBER FEEDBACK TO THIS ASK THE EXPERT Q&A:

I set contributor as "anonymous" for my Exchange public folders, but the external accounts still cannot send email to the public folders. The email gets stuck in my Outlook Web Access (OWA) local delivery queue. Please advise.
