About this Download:
Microsoft's Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) uses "SmartScreen" technology to determine whether or not incoming e-mail is spam, non-delivery reports (NDRs) or other unwanted e-mail. SmartScreen tracks over 500,000 e-mail characteristics based on data from hundreds of thousands of MSN Hotmail subscribers who volunteered to classify millions of e-mail messages as legitimate or as spam.
By using these e-mail characteristics tracked by SmartScreen technology, Exchange Intelligent Message Filter can help determine whether each incoming e-mail message is likely to be spam. The data file used to store these characteristics can be updated as the definition of spam changes, providing a more accurate assessment of each incoming e-mail message. Based on this assessment, you can choose to block e-mail messages at the gateway or at the mailbox store.
Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter key features:
