About this Download:
Many problems with Internet communications result from the inability to resolve a domain name to an IP address. Nslookup is a command-line utility designed for troubleshooting Domain Name Service (DNS) problems such as host name resolution. In Windows 2000, the utility is installed automatically with TCP/IP. Nslookup displays all types and classes of DNS resource records.
The utility can be used either interactively or non-interactively. If you need to look up only a single piece of data, use noninteractive mode. If you need to look up more than one piece of data, you can use interactive mode.
This diagnostic tool displays information from Domain Name System (DNS) name servers. Before using this tool, you should be familiar with how DNS works. Nslookup is available only if the TCP/IP protocol has been installed.
