Procedure for moving Exchange member server from NT4 to Win2k domain

I have an existing NT4 domain. I will be building a new Windows 2000 domain. In the current domain, I have an Exchange server that is a member server of that domain. I want to "move" that server out of the current NT4 domain into the Windows 2000 domain. My thought is that this should be accomplished pretty painlessly if I stop all Exchange services, disjoin the server from the current domain, join the server to the new domain, recreate the service account in the new domain, then reassign the service account to all of the exchange services. Will this work? Or is there a better, more efficient way of accomplishing this move?

Your procedure sounds pretty good, but let me add two things. First, don't forget to take a complete backup of the entire server before beginning this process. Second, read Microsoft's white paper on changing the service account in Exchange 5.5.
