Q

Problems upgrading to Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition

I have a problem with the Exchange 2003 setup. I want to upgrade an Exchange 2003 Standard to Enterprise Edition. But after selecting re-install, setup initializes but stops with an error similar to this: "collaboration data objects in use."

Do you have any applications other than Exchange installed? If so when you use a third-party program that uses...

Collaborative Data Objects (CDO) 1.21 to access a mailbox on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the third-party program may stop responding. Your upgrade may be triggering it. See KB 823343.
