Clustering Exchange 2000 server in a WAN environment

I have a question about clustering MS Exchange 2000 server in a WAN environment. Are there limitations to take into account when you set this cluster up? Is it feasible to do with a full T1 and a VPN between sites? During setup, would it be better to set up the cluster in one location and ship the box, or have each box in place in their respective sites at installation? Thanks for the help, and for the great resource!

You cannot cluster over a WAN. Clustering requires a LAN (or VLAN). For more information on how to do create a geographically dispersed cluster, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 280743 and the white paper here.
