Best Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 migration method for performing a new install

We have Windows 2000 Server, Exchange 2000 Server and a backup domain controller. These are all separate servers. We want to upgrade to Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003, but we want to do new installs. What is the easiest way to do this?

I would consider a swing server method. You need a server in the middle to move to, upgrade the original server and then move back to it. Here are some helpful Microsoft articles on various migration methods:
